The biggest issue is performance. It tries to fit a hot Intel processor into a tiny chassis, which results in it massively underperforming compared to the Air and every other laptop we've tested with the same Intel processor.

When it comes to high-performance use, this laptop is really bad.

The processor is maxed out during Cinebench 2024, and it now massively underperforms compared to all its competitors.

This laptop actually performs surprisingly well with 68% battery remaining.

The Galaxy Book again performed well, with 69% battery remaining, indicating around 12 hours of runtime for this test.

The memory is soldered, and it maxes out at 16 gigabytes for this 14-inch version.

While you can upgrade the storage, it's going to be difficult to remove the back of the laptop because all the screws are hidden underneath the rubber feet.

The Galaxy Book 4 looks very sleek and minimal. It's fairly lightweight.

This laptop's chassis is solidly built; there is no screen flex and minimal keyboard deck flex.

The fingerprint reader is so efficient at logging you in that this hasn't been a problem for me at all.

There's a brand new ARM processor that, at least on paper, outperforms the old x86 processors and competes with the M3.

It is really efficient, so these thin and light laptops benefit greatly.

It offers good single-core and multi-core performance, excellent battery life, and has been running cool and quiet for everyday use.

There have been some emulation and compatibility issues. x86 apps have been hit or miss, and gaming has also been hit or miss.

By using magnesium, the pro is able to weigh 2.8 pounds.

The crafted aluminum portion that houses the keyboard and trackpad is similar, with the bottom portion made of a magnesium alloy to reduce weight and help with thermals.

One thing that can be a problem with a black device, though, is fingerprints.

In terms of performance, I think Dell did a really good job, considering what's going on here. In a thin and light ultrabook like this, it's running 10th Gen Intel chips.

The graphical performance is noticeably better.

It's still not great for gaming. Even something like Overwatch, which is not a particularly demanding game, doesn't run all that well.

Overall, performance is quite good, and I actually think the thermal system on this year's model is slightly improved compared to last year's model.

The battery here is 52 watt-hours. They haven't changed the size, but I'm still getting a comfortable 10 hours on this particular battery.

If you get a higher resolution screen, the battery life is probably going to be less than 10 hours, but you can expect 10 hours on the 1080p model without a touchscreen.

The RAM is soldered on, so you can't replace that, but the SSD, thank goodness, is still replaceable.

The SSD they include is from SK Hynix, but you can easily upgrade it if you want.

But that thing has four gigs of RAM, and I've said this before in previous videos. I have to say it again: you should not sell a premium device like this, an XPS 13, with only four gigs of RAM.

This thing is incredibly nice-looking; it's small, compact, and lightweight.

There's something unique about the way Dell designs their carbon fiber. It's soft to the touch, durable, and inviting to use.

This year, they only include two USB ports: there's one USB-C on the left and one USB-C on the right.

You'll notice they're actually missing the light indicator for the battery.
