I felt like it went fine for the first 45 minutes to an hour. Then, I started to develop a hot spot in my right foot, which turned into full-out pain after about an hour and 15 minutes.

It's a shoe that is really going to be most happy on the road, though you could maybe take it on some very light trails.

The grip here is certainly good in terms of road and tarmac.

There isn't too much rubber, and I think it will grip decently on wet pavement.

Men's size n comes in at 9.9 ounces, men's size 9 at 8.4 ounces, and women's size 8 at a significant weight increase. However, this is offset because the new power and plus mile features make it feel not that heavy.

It's just a little on the heavier side, but it's okay.

The somewhat stiff heel counter locks you down really well.

This heel is a little bit clunky initially as the shoe is breaking in.

Everything about this shoe is comfort.

It's soft, it's comfortable, it's cushy, and it fits great.

I felt like the previous version just sort of sank in.

The outsole comes in a grippier version.

The combination of two different types of rubber provides better traction.

Despite weighing 11.3 oz, it felt like a faster shoe.

The shoe's weight increased by 4 oz this year, reaching a total of 10.7 oz or 303 g.

You experience a very stable ride throughout your entire stride because of this wide platform.

With this plush heel counter, it will be difficult to experience heel lift in this shoe.

I really enjoy the way the cloudtech phase makes the midsole compress. It really squishes down every time my foot hits the ground and then bounces back nicely.

The upper is somewhat roomy, and I really have to cinch up the laces to get the fit I like.

If you have a taller or higher volume foot, there is a potential blister point that I've identified.

It does a really good job with traction and, obviously, durability so far.

In some of my higher wear areas, I can see that some of it is wearing down.

It felt great for all of my runs, as I've been primarily doing just easy runs.

The weight for my size 10 1/2 is 10.5 oz or 300 g, which is really getting up there.

The structured heel counter, with no heel lift for me, felt good against the Achilles, with no issues at all.

The speedboard has a somewhat negative connotation for me, and now they're moving it down here, which is more like a mid-foot shank.

The new and improved mesh upper provides the perfect balance of stretchy comfort and a secure fit.

I found the Go6 to be really nicely balanced.

The only thing I will say is that although the heel collars are nicely padded, there is a very stiff heel counter that bends in quite a lot. I have experienced some pressure from it on the base of my Achilles.

The Cloud Monster was my favorite running shoe of the previous year in terms of daily trainers.

The tongue in these items has a rather aggressive gusset.

I did notice that with the runner's knot, heel slippage was really only mild to moderate.

The upper is beautiful and very comfortable, but I feel like it's a little bit uncharacteristic when worn.

The fit for me has been greatly improved with the second version of the Adidas PrimeX Strung.

I found that it held my foot in place very securely on fast runs.

I can't say that the upper fit is as dialed in as the V1 or as it is when the V1 is strung.

The rubber is very soft and malleable, but for some reason, it never seems to wear down. It works really well on roads and pavements.

I think the best part of the shoe this time around is from the Primax.

It's a very fast shoe, despite the weight and the cumbersome feel of the shoe.

There is also a slightly wider base to add more stability.

The stability wasn't world-beating on the original, and you wouldn't necessarily expect it to be on a massive kind of super foam stack shoe like this.

The cushioning did not wear out over 100 miles; it stayed fresh and bouncy.

Once you're moving, it feels unstable when you're standing around, but when I was running, that thing was just smooth.

The upper material is a type of knit fabric. It's heavy, absorbs sweat, and tends to retain it.

The rubber protecting this midsole is exemplary; it offers almost full rubber coverage and is very tacky.

I love the rubber outsole that's on here; there's a lot of it.

I wish they had tried to cut a little more weight and been a bit more aggressive in terms of cutouts.

It is on the heavier side, and I don't use it for its intended purpose.

The shoe is built somewhat like a rocket tank.

I can definitely feel that this shoe has a little bit more bulk to it.

The carbon plate provides it with a bit of stability.

The shoe isn't wild, and it doesn't cave in every time my foot hits the ground.

The downside of this arch side connecting piece is that at slower paces, like when I'm warming up and just getting ready to start the work portion of a workout, I definitely feel it.

The tongue is quite padded, and it extends slightly further up onto the top of the foot than it did last year.

The fit for me in the Puma Velocity Nitro 3 is a size eight in the UK. This is a very comfortable shoe.

There's still a lot of padding at the back of the shoe, which does soak up sweat a little bit. In general, it's not the most breathable upper out there.

The Puma grip outsole, which I will discuss in the outsole section, has lived up to its reputation as a great traction compound.

The performance of the Puma grip was absolutely fantastic; it felt so planted.

The redesigned rubber pattern is lighter, yet still grippy.

The increased stack height of the shoe, along with the added puffiness in the heel cup, contributes a substantial amount of weight this year.

It has increased slightly in weight, but I don't think it's the kind of weight that makes a significant difference in terms of the experience.

The heel has been slightly redesigned to, I think, cradle the foot a bit more from the sides, as opposed to padding it right behind the foot.

The dual-density midsole setup features a top layer made of Puma's Nitro foam, which is nitrogen-infused.

The shoe is firmer than I would prefer for my daily training needs.
